Banarasi brocade : originating from the holy city of Varanasi. The textile is created in weaving by thrusting the pattern thread between the warp. The unique motifs and intricate designs are made with gold and silver zari threads. Brocades were originally made for royalty in the 17th-18th century; now evolving through the ages to become an iconic part of Indian textile tradition.
