This collection is inspired from the Japanese art form Sashiko. Meaning 'little stab' or 'little pierce' derived from Japanese verb 'sash'- describes the action where number of stitches are taken together at once. It is the art of mindful mending with intricate and geometric stitches.
There are two types of Sashiko forms we have used :
1- Moyozashi : features repeating geometric patterns shapes made up of straight, curved, zigzag lines, typically drawn using grid as a guide and definition on scale.
2- Hitomezashi (one stitch Sashiko) : which is made up of a series of only horizontal or vertical lines which may or may not touch to form bordered shapes. These designs tend to be more densely stitched than Moyozashi patterns.
This denim is completely hand embroidered by our artisans. It takes upto 7 - 9 working days to complete a single piece. Due to the extensive handwork involved, kindly allow us 25 working days to process your order. In case already in stock, we are happy to ship it in 2 - 3 working days.
